Create a Committee Nomination Record
This function allows members to nominate themselves or other members for committee service. For more details on the Committee Nomination entity including field descriptions, click here.
1. Navigate to Cobalt Membership > Committees.
2. Open the Committee to which you would like to add a Committee Nomination.
5. At the top of the Nomination Tool Bar select the + sign.
6. Fill out the fields in the Committee Nomination Form. Those marked with a red asterisk (*) are required.
7. Click the Save or Save & Close button.
Approving and Denied Committee Nominations
If the committee nomination is approved an e-mail will be automatically sent that notifies the nominator and the nominee of the acceptance.
Approving a Committee Nomination
- Navigate to Cobalt Membership > Committees.
- Open the committee for which you wish to approve a nomination..
- Open the pending nomination record for the member you wish to approve in the Nomination Toolbar select the deactivate option in the top ribbon toolbar
- A pop-up dialog box will open, change the status in the drop down to Approved and then click deactivate
- To confirm that the approval succeeded, navigate back to the Committee Record and you should see the Contact under the Active Committee Memberships sub-grid.
UPDATING AN APPROVED NOMINEE TO ACTIVE MEMBER
- Navigate to Cobalt Membership > Committees.
- Open the committee for which you wish to update the nominee's membership.
- Change your system view of the Members toolbar to Pending Committee Members.
- Select the nominee from the list of pending memberships.
- Update the Position field, Term Dates, and Portal Sort Order if you choose to do so.
- Click Save or Save and close
- You can see the status at the top right corner update to Current from Pending
- To confirm the activation of the committee membership go back to the Committee Record and the contact should appear in the Members toolbar under the system view, Current Committee Members.
Note - If the Committee is set to Open, a nomination will be automatically Accepted, but you will still need to update the Pending Membership of an approved nominee.
Denying a Committee Nomination
If the committee nomination is denied an e-mail will be automatically sent that notifies the nominator of the rejection.
- Navigate to Cobalt Membership > Committees.
- Open the committee for which you wish to deny a nomination.
- Open the appropriate contact from the list under the Nominations Toolbar, System View Pending Nominations.
- Select Deactivate from the ribbon.
- Select the Denied Status from the dropdown menu that appears in the pop up window.
- To confirm that the nomination has been denied go back to the Committee Record and in the Nominations Toolbar select the Denied Nominations System View. You should see the name of the denied member appear.
